You can get involved with The Portchester Players Theatre Group in four ways:
Full Member
Being a full member allows the fullest participation in the company, including acting.
We are always on the lookout for new members - particularly MEN.
Entry to the group is by audition, which takes the form of:
song
If possible we like people to bring along a prepared song, but many
people - especially if they're first-timers - just sing a well-known song like
'Happy Birthday'.
sight-reading
We provide the words and give you a short while to read it
through before you perform it.
movement
A very simple routine, designed to assess whether you have 2
(or more!) left feet.
We welcome all - from beginners to experienced actors and actresses. For beginners, the audition is designed to assess your potential rather than your current ability.

Scenery construction / painting

Publicity
and so on...
We are always glad of additional back stage support - particularly set construction and wardrobe.
