ALL ENGLAND THEATRE FESTIVAL 2007
Once again the PPs entered a play for this exciting competitive festival. Directed by new PP director Jacqueline Arnott, the play we entered was called “Lucy in the Sky” and was set in an inner city hostel for the homeless. Whilst we were not lucky enough to go through to the next round this year, we were thrilled that Tania Perkins was awarded Best Actress and that Helen Stoddart received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. A very creditable start to any new Directors career! Well done to her and the team.
ALL ENGLAND THEATRE FESTIVAL 2006
The Portchester Players narrowly missed a place in the Final of the All England Theatre Festival after competing in the semi-final in Teignmouth, Devon. Once again, though, Steve Arnott won an award for his portrayal of Billy. This is the second time the Players have reached this level. Third time lucky next year, perhaps?
All England Theatre Festival Western Divisional Finals
The Portchester Players have just come away form the All England Theatre Festival Western Divisional Finals as runners up (again!) with a place in the next round to be held at The Carlton Theatre in Teigmouth in Devon on Saturday 13th May. Steve Arnott was – once again – awarded the best Actor trophy. Well done Steve! Below is a picture of the Team in action.
